ATCS Welcomes Brian Riffel as Vice President – Baltimore Operations Manager, Corporate Design Discipline Lead


ATCS is excited to welcome Brian as Vice President – Baltimore Operations Manager, Corporate Design Discipline Lead. Brian brings over 25 years of roadway, transit, bicycle and pedestrian experience focusing on all project phases, including studies, planning, preliminary design, final design, development of final contract documents and construction support services. His experience includes major interstate improvements, tolling facilities, dualization and reconstruction of major arterial roadways, capacity and safety improvements on a wide range of roadway systems, commuter and light rail transit improvements, multi-use trails and park improvements.

Throughout his career, Brian has managed several high-profile, multi-billion-dollar projects. In the past ten years, he has focused on alternative project delivery for both highway and rail transit projects. With strong working relationships with MDOT State Highway Administration, MDOT Maryland Transit Administration, Maryland Transportation Authority, DDOT, Montgomery County, Prince George’s County, Howard County, Baltimore County, Carroll County, Cecil County, and Baltimore City, Brian will play an instrumental role in growing our Baltimore operations. In addition, he will be focusing on building a cohesive roadway engineering team throughout our organization.

Brian earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of New York at Buffalo. He is a licensed professional engineer in Maryland, the District of Columbia and Texas.

When Brian is not watching his children’s sporting events, his interests include barbecue, cornhole, golf, hiking and cycling.
